A true master of all weapons
The Night Raven is a master of wielding any combination of weapons. It has access to a high variety of situational skills, that can fill any variety of builds and styles.
It's skills are varied both in weapon bonuses, approach, use cases, mobility and more.
Best: Flexible builds, highest mobility in the game, easy to pickup.
Worst: No major Combo interactions, relies on older skills for creating a full rotation, hard to master.
Weapons: Dagger, Sword, Katar, Axe
Gameplay Identity
The Night Raven has no enforced rotation, this gives players full control of the best rotation they can use to improve their damage power. This makes the Night Raven:
A very mobile DPS with multiple hit and run options using all kinds of weapons according to situation, allowing them to quickly dominate unpredictable fights
Due to it's nature in wielding multiple weapons, Most of its offensive skills have varied scaling and deal Boosted Scaling Damage when wielding matching weapons.
The use of the Raven (similar to original RO's Falcon) brings alternative concepts, ensuring a night raven will always have ways to deal reliable damage to enemies, if prepared for it.
Night Raven can also apply a Night Wound to targets. This red cross-shaped debuff provides minor extra damage with most skills when used on a marked target, making Blitz Beat and Blade Dancer's Southern Cross great openers to any rotation. The bonus is also small enough that it doesn't feel punishing for missing or ignoring its window.
Finally, the Night Raven can proc the Raven's attacks automatically when auto-attacking, if the player is wielding specifically a dagger + sword combination.
Core Gameplay Loop
Final jobs always have varied core loops. The Night Raven is not a very skill point starved job, meaning it doesn't need to get a ton of skills to become decent... as long as you know what you're looking for:
- Double Dagger Builds should always Get Definitive Dagger.
- Double Sword Builds should always Get Northern Cross.
- Double Axe Builds should always get Bloody Fangs.
- Dagger+Sword Builds can have impressive auto attack power with Blitz Beat procs.
- All builds should consider Typhoon Edge for AoE coverage if they need it or the Raven Skills for more reliability.
- Final Skill: Raven Steps. Requires having a Raven, quickly dashes to any location with a very small cooldown and SP cost.
Rest of skill points can be used for buffs, mobility and overall class coverage.
Due to access to Raven Steps to quickly move out of danger, a Night Raven can take bigger risks when fighting strong enemies. This allows them to use longer combo rotations with less risk, mixing Blade Dancer skills like Soul Destroyer and alternating Southern Cross (for it's doubled damage when reused in a short window due to Night Wound) is very recommended to boost the damage potential while rotating the cooldowns quickly.
Overall, the Night Raven is a very free-form job, fitting for players who would rather be creative in their progression and experimenting with varied combinations of skills.
