The Shadows

Shadows are the curse of The Mark given form. They are the main reason Orphans are hated by so many people around New-Midgard.

The Mark

  • The Mark is a red glow in the eyes of every Orphan. It's commonly called Morroc's Mark due to it appearing during the mass disappearances after Morroc's Death.
  • Orphans who carried the mark have vanished for between 4 to 5 years, leaving no trace behind and having no memory of where they have gone to. They aged normallly.
  • The mark has no other known properties apart from creating Shadows.

Shadow Mechanics

  • Whenever a player dies in any dungeon (and only dungeons), a Shadow will spawn. The type of shadow depends on the dungeon ranking.
  • Each shadow has a specific behavior, and will randomly attempt to Self-Destruct whenever anyone comes near it.
  • If the shadow is defeated before it explodes, the last player who died on the map is revived with partial HP/SP..
  • Multiple player deaths can cause multiple shadows to spawn, all must be defeated to revive a player. Only the last player who died is revived.
  • If the shadow explodes it deals heavy area damage based on how much HP it had left. Damage is fixed at 100 per HP left. Shadows take 1 damage from any source.
