==Tips and Tricks==
* While the job kit is effective at using every ability, it can become an issue when situational awareness is required. Don't use a 2-Handed Wyrm Spear when you are in danger, as you are taking more damage without a shield.
* Using the "Taunt" ability in parties when engaging enemies can turn a bad situation into a manageable one. Remember you can tank damage and your party might not.
* Repeating "Dragon Thrust" too much can lead to issues with generating aggro. Remember to use other skills or abilities to avoid enemies focusing you too much. The aggro of Dragon Thrust may also interrupt attacks that allies use.
* Watch your status. This job depends on a fine balance of STR, DEX and VIT. Focusing on too much of a single stat is a common mistake that can lead to a lack of damage or survivability.
* Engage at the start using the skills: [[Spear Mastery]] followed by either a defensive ''1-Handed Spear'' or ''2-Handed Wyrm Spear'' to push further. Swap to the more offensive weapon depending on the situation. A defensive mindset is key to start and then your game can open up into more damage later on.
==Recommended Party Composition==
* Pairing Raiders with jobs that can output heavy ranged damage or strong healers can increase the ability of the Raider to stay in the front lines.
* Jobs that can provide a decent amount of cover such as [[Paladins]] can help you a lot. They can protect your weaker moments as you balance gear and stats.
* Avoid having too many defensive jobs in the same party. While having tanks is essential, Raiders can fit this role alongside a Paladin, meaning that having more tanks can lead to a severe lack of damage. A good balance would be 2 tanks, 2 damage dealers, and a healer.
==Gear==
'''Stats:'''
* STR: This is your main stat. Raiders focus on high base damage and a healthy amount of defense.
* DEX: While not as important as STR, DEX increases your accuracy, which is essential for landing hits.
* VIT: Very important for a Raider. As a hybrid tank/off-tank, survivability is a key point.
'''Weapons:'''
* Spears: The basic choice, decent range and good damage, versatile.
* Wyrm Spears: Massive 2-Handed weapons with lots of damage and attack speed, but no shield.
* Daggers: In rare cases where high speed is required. Usually not recommended.
* Swords: Very limited options but can help in specific builds.

The Forgotten Myth

Raider.gif The Raider is an off-tank with large damage overall, capable of fighting in multiple ways.

It has plenty of buffs to protect itself under specific circumstances.

Best: Versatile fighter, decent resistances, good party potential.

Worst: below average damage, gear reliant, hard to balance stats.

Weapons: Spears, Wyrm Spears, limited Daggers and Swords

Gameplay Identity

The Raider is the opposite of the Trickster. It's a safe job class that can progress at a steady pace and handle most situations, making this job:

A well rounded warrior with good damage variety, high frontline potential and a simple kit that can cover every situation it faces.

A smart Raider knows what path to take to correctly engage enemies. In risky situations they may favor the use of a 1-Handed Spear with a Shield to keep the enemies at bay. When more comfortable they can swap into the powerful 2-Handed Wyrm Spear to increase their damage potential and Dragon Thrust Level.

Dragon Thrust is a Powerful Opener for the Dracomancer. The level of this skill that is enabled depends on the currently equipped spear. The skill is the center-piece of any Raider or Dracomancer.

The entire kit of a Raider is built around skills that should be used situationally, either by pushing enemies back, increasing defenses or attacking with more offensive power.

Raiders have quick job level growth, hitting the max Job level of 50 well before most other non-thief jobs. However, only the best will be able to continue their training until they peak and become a Dracomancer.
