Gravekeeper
Resources should be spent
The Gravekeeper is a powerful fighter that can quickly end battles with short bursts of critical damage. As an alternative, they can also quickly barrage their opponents with many quick attacks.
The core of their combat is around the way they can combo and simply ignore enemy defenses and resistances, making them always easy prey.
Best: Many critical options, easy to build, powerful DPS potential.
Worst: Resource intensive, requires many status investments, no unique defensive choices.
Weapons: Dagger, Sword, Katar, Axe
Gameplay Identity
The Gravekeeper has a strong focus on chaining skills together to find an outcome, while debilitating enemies by decreasing their defenses, this makes them:
A heavy-duty job that can hit enemies with massive damage, while ignoring most defensive tactics used by them, ensuring they don't need to adapt much.
Since most Gravekeeper skills can crit, they have a very high power in dealing with enemies over both short and long fights, as long as their resources aren't drained.
The access to 2 different ways of achieving Fury status, with the Assassin's Fury and their own Loki's Fury provides them tools to always keep the aggression up.
The Gravekeeper has a short 3-skill combo where the last hit can be changed between a strong direct hit or an AoE to help with quick crowd-control and adaptation.
Gravekeepers also have access to a multitude of terrain and enemy debilitation by making them unable to fight effectively, either by revealing hidden enemies, petrification, large area coverage, doubling damage taken or straight up defense piercing, up to a point, as long as resources are available.
Core Gameplay Loop
The Gravekeeper is a job that only needs access to part of its kit, depending on how it's built by the player. It has different focus for different ways of fighting:
- When using combos, always starts by casting Executioner's Alpha and Omega.
- The final hit comes with either Desolated Burial or Cursed Coffin.
- Making use of Cross Impact to fill in rotations with a very quick hit is a good way to extract extra DPS.
- It's important to properly build a SP reserve due to the constant cost of the skill chains.
- All builds should consider Loki's Mark for support and burst potential by doubling the enemy damage taken on next hit (Lex Aterna effect).
- Final Skill: Mass Grave. A walking large AoE that deals massive physical damage to enemies caught in the path.
Due to the need to be in Fury status for its combo, the Gravekeeper needs to properly prepare how to achieve this status. Loki's Fury requires a large amount of SP but provides the status for a long time, being more recommended before engaging in combat, while Fury itself (from the Assassin tree) is a good way to keep it up later on. The Gravekeeper can also forego its combo skills entirely and focus on alternating Sonic Blows, Cross Impact, Impact Tooth and Fissure Tooth to overwhelm enemies with skill casts.
Gravekeeper is a job that values quick reactions and high skill use, the rotations outside of combo are very free form but require extra care on SP management to not burn it entirely and be exposed. The fact it can deal critical damage in many skills makes it a perfect user of Katar weapons.
